Description
SprayMax® 2K Hot Rod Satin Black is a professional-grade two-component aerosol topcoat designed to deliver a smooth, factory-style satin black finish for muscle cars, restorations, custom builds, and refinished parts.
Featuring an integrated hardener, this premium 2K coating provides excellent durability, chemical resistance, weather resistance, and long-term color retention in a convenient aerosol format.
SprayMax aerosol technology produces fine atomization and a spray pattern similar to a professional spray gun. It is ideal for repairing existing satin black finishes or refinishing new and restored parts made from metal, steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

How to Spray
Surface Preparation
- Sand the substrate thoroughly.
- Clean the surface with a suitable silicone remover or wax and grease remover.
- Apply the appropriate primer when needed for maximum adhesion and corrosion protection.
Activate the Can
- Shake the aerosol vigorously for 2 minutes.
- Remove the red activation button from the cap.
- Turn the can upside down and place the button onto the pin on the bottom of the can.
- Place the can on a firm surface and press the button fully with the palm of your hand.
- Shake the can again for 2 minutes after activation.
Application
- Spray a test pattern before applying the coating.
- Hold the can 6–8 inches from the surface.
- Apply 2–3 even spray passes.
- Allow approximately 10 minutes of flash time between coats.
- Shake the can occasionally during use.
- Recommended total dry film thickness is approximately 2–3 mils.
Drying Times
- Dust-Free: Approximately 16 minutes at 68°F
- Tack-Free: Approximately 3 hours at 68°F
- Polishable: After approximately 24 hours
- Force Drying: Flash for 5 minutes, then bake for 30 minutes at 140°F
After Use
Turn the can upside down and spray until only propellant exits to clear the valve. Once activated, use the product within approximately 24 hours. Higher temperatures may shorten the usable pot life.
